broke, overwhelmed, or tired. - Rachel Jonat
The Gospel of Luke 10:38-41 is a familiar story about two sisters, Mary and Martha. Martha had invited Jesus to her home. When he arrived she busied herself preparing for her guest, Jesus, while her sister Mary, sat at Jesus' feet listening to His teachings. Martha asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. But Jesus reminded Martha that Mary had chosen good part.
So as we celebrate Christmas, let's choose the good part.
Christmas is about the gifts. Jesus Christ was sent into this world as God's greatest gift to mankind. And just as the Wise Men brought their best gifts to Jesus, we to need to offer our best gifts of worship and praise to the Most High God,
Christmas is about the lights. Jesus Christ, the light of the world, chases away the darkness of sin that seems to engulf us each and every day. We must become a reflection of the light of Jesus Christ and let that light shine in everything we do.
Christmas is about the celebration. As we celebrate the birth of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, let us give birth to the fruits of the spirit in our lives and live by them all year long. And let us give birth to ideas and concepts that benefit others and show them the love of Jesus.
Let's begin some new holiday traditions and choose the good part. When we choose the good part we won't go broke, become overwhelmed, or get tired. Because we will rest in the knowledge that God's gifts are the only ones that really matter.
Wishing each and everyone of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
