First, I praise God that this episode did not happen while at home alone or with just Will present. It did not happen as I was driving back from NC. It happened at Jen's house and she was able to dial 911 and answer many of the questions asked by the health care workers. I thank God that I was only in the hospital for one night and that Jen and a friend of hers could drive me back home in my car so that I could follow up with my own physician. I thank God for friends and family members, including one who offered to drive to NC to pick me up and bring me back home. And for those who have stopped by, called, texted, sent cards, and lifted prayers.
In a moment my plans changed, but the change has allowed me to receive some unexpected benefits. I have been able to get some much needed rest. I have had the opportunity to relax and do some reading, finish a craft project that I had been too busy to complete, and enjoy the silence of my own thoughts without my mind racing to the next meeting or the next project. But most of all, I have had more time to commune with God through quiet time with Him as well as in prayer and Bible study.
This situation has also been a lesson in perseverance and faith. In one week, my calendar has been cleared, except for medical appointments. We still haven't gotten to the bottom of the problem and more tests have been ordered.Thank you for all expressions of concern and your prayers. Please keep the prayers coming. But I rest in the knowledge that, by His stripes, I am healed!
