I believe that divine appointments are made for us everyday. They may come in the opportunity to ministry to someone in need, share our testimony or a word of encouragement, or simply smile and speak to someone as an acknowledgment that they are not invisible and that they matter. Divine appointments place us in the right place and time, with the right person who needs us at that very moment. But we have the choice of whether we step up to the challenge of being obedient to the word of God by saying or doing the right thing or by simply remaining silent.
Luke 10:2 states, "...the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few." There are so many hurting people in the world today. Many have lost all hope for tomorrow and are living on the edge of despair. The Lord needs us to not only spread the good news of Jesus Christ but to also sow seeds of encouragement and hope into the lives of those that feel that all is lost. This is ministry on its most basic level. And this is the ministry that all if us, who call ourselves Christians, are called to do. Think about the many opportunities you had to encourage someone today, with a word or even with just a smile.
As you go about your daily activities, take the time to really look at the people that are around you and listen to Holy Spirit's guidance. You may be surprised to see a need that you can fulfill. There are no coincidences, just divine appointments.
