This past week I let go of my stress and concerns about the world, our nation, and society at large. For a little while I tried to stay away from the news reports of gun violence and crime. I didn't focus on the price of gas or what the stock market was doing. I focused on long walks, seeing new sights, eating too much of the wrong foods, and staying up too late. I focused on living. I came home this evening physically tired, but spiritually rested. I'm glad I took the time to see the world through the eyes of a child. But the true blessing is that we really don't need a child to see the world that way. We just need to unplug and open our eyes to all of the wonderful things around us.
The world and all of its problems will always be there when we get back. Take some time to break away from it all to renew, refresh, and revive our minds, bodies, and spirits.
