With all of the stuff happening now, it was refreshing to see someone hug people of all genders, ages, sizes, and colors. It didn't hurt anyone and didn't cost a thing but the image was a powerful one that reminded me that at the end of the day, we are all humans and as humans need love from each other. This basic concept transcends racial, ethnic, and religious lines.Love doesn't care about who we are or where we are from. Love doesn't care about about our religious beliefs or the lack thereof, Love doesn't care about our gender status or whether we are physically, mentally, or emotionally, challenged. Love doesn't care about whether we are rich or poor, living in a mansion or on the streets, educated or illiterate. Love simply cares about us all.
January 21, 2018, will be National Hugging Day. But let's demonstrate our love and affection for our fellow humans today. You probably shouldn't run up to strangers and hug them but you can offer a smile, speak to the people we meet, or hold open a door for strangers. But we can hug our families and close friends, If they are not close by, send a message by text or any of the many social media platforms. Let somebody know that they are loved today.
Let's turn the world upside down. Show some love today.
