As I look back on that day I am reminded that often we have to keep working, even though the storms of life are swirling all around us. We can be in a health storm, or a family storm. It can be a storm in our finances, or on our jobs. It can be a storm in our home, our community, or even our church. Our storm might not even look like a storm to others, but it is still a storm to us. We may try to take cover and shelter ourselves from the storm but no matter what we do, we can't make the storm go away. So we keep on working, keep on hoping, and keep on praying that the storm will soon be over. Sometimes it takes a long time for it to blow over and sometimes there is damage. But eventually all storms come to an end. It may not be our desired end, but it will end.
The storm during the Bible Marathon did pass over and the sun came back out. I think we had a good strategy for riding out the storm. We stayed in the Word of God and we kept on working. And by the way, even though we couldn't see it, the Son was right there with us all the time.
Much thanks to Nicole Johnson, Whitney Washington, Glorietta Jones, and Edward Smith for riding out that storm with me.
