In the Spirit, Everyday... I believe that every, thought, feeling, and experience in our lives shapes the way we choose to live our lives. We can choose to live in the Spirit of God or under the influence of the world. Real life always intersects faith, no matter what choice we make. I choose to live in the Spirit, everyday and I try to view the world through the lens of our Creator. It's not always an easy journey, but I know that I don't have to travel it alone. It's Praying Time!
LORD, our nation is in need of prayer. We pray for a spirit of peace and cooperation to rule and reign over us. We pray for sound judgment and wisdom to be freely expressed. We pray for the courage for all of us to speak truth to power and not yield to threats and intimidation. Let us remember that as we claim to be a nation founded on Christian principles, let us live out those principles. Let us to remember that we are called to treat others the way that we want to be treated. Let us have patience and give a little more grace to each other. Let us remember the many people who have been sickened and have lost their lives during during this pandemic. Lord we pray for those who are suffering from any sort of loss at this time, whether it is death or illness, job loss, the lack of food, lack of healthcare, or homelessness. Lord, please remind us that we are brothers' and sisters' keepers. And even though we pray for each other, let us remember that we can be the answers to their prayers. And Lord, we pray for unity to this divided country. We pray that minds and hearts be turned to you. We pray that egos be put aside and emotions be healed during this time. And Lord, we pray that all of us remember that we are the United States of America and that our unity will be evident with each other and the world. Please forgive us for all of the times that we have turned away from you and from each other. Forgive us for the times when we have put our interests ahead of your will and purpose for us. And help us to remember the lessons that we learn from Matthew 25, that what we do for others, we have done for you. We pray this prayer in the matchless and mighty name of Jesus the Christ. Amen. If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 |
